Wacker Neuson recently announced the addition of the first electric telehandler, the TH412e, to its zero-emission series. A 96-volt lithium-ion battery powers the TH412e, and the telehandler has a lift height of the bucket swivel point of 4.5 meters (14.7 ft).

    About The TH412e Telehandler

The electric telehandler features a compact design for increased mobility in confined spaces. The electric model’s lack of emissions and low noise levels enable it to operate in confined spaces and areas with emissions restrictions, including indoors.

The 96-volt lithium-ion battery has two power rating options depending on the area and application. Options include the standard 18 kWh and the higher power 28 kWh model.

The telehandler also has a 3kW on-board battery charger and can accommodate a second 3kW on-board charger. With a second on-board charger, uninterrupted runtime can reach up to 5 hours depending on the environment and application.

The ergonomic cockpit’s digital display has warning lights and light controls on the outer edges. The center display shows the operating hour meter, battery charge status, remaining runtime, speed, and component temperatures so vital information is always within easy view.

    TH412e Safety Features

The TH412e has several built-in safety features. The telehandler’s electric parking brake activates automatically if the machine idles or shifts into neutral, or if the operator leaves the seat. The brake releases again once the telehandler shifts back into gear.

Users can manually activate the brake with a switch. The telehandler’s auto-hold and hill-hold function prevents the telehandler from rolling.

    TH412e Efficiency & Operation

The telehandler has two electric motors, one for the traction drive and one for the working hydraulics. The dual motors minimize energy consumption. The battery management system monitors the battery to increase efficiency and prevent deep discharge.

The TH412e has all-wheel drive and its telescopic arm is positioned in the middle of the machine to provide more stability. The telehandler also has front-wheel and crab steering options.
