Overview This 2026 Peterbilt Model 220 Medium Duty is configured for refuse, scrap, and recycling hauling in an on-highway rear loader/push-out application. Engine & Drivetrain Powered by a PACCAR PX-7 engine rated 250 HP @ 2,400 RPM (governed @ 2,600 RPM) with 660 lb-ft of torque @ 1,600 RPM, 2024-emissions compliant. Paired with an Allison 3500 RDS-P 6-speed automatic transmission (Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series) with a console-mounted push-button shifter and wide-ratio gearing, plus a 1710 HD driveline with 1 midship bearing. Rear axle ratio is 5.57; powertrain is optimized for vocational applications/heavy GCWR with a typical operating speed of 75 MPH and a 100 MPH standard maximum speed limit. Equipped with a 160-amp brushed alternator, viscous-type fan clutch, and 18.7 CFM air compressor. Cold-weather equipment includes a 110-120V immersion-type block heater and a cold-start engine grid heater effective to -4°F/-20°C.
