Overview
This 2027 Peterbilt 567 conventional day cab is set up as a roll-off truck for refuse, scrap and recycling, spec'd for refuse and on-highway service. It carries a Galfab hoist with a Sarg Pioneer tarp system and a self-steering pusher axle. GVWR and GCW are both 80,000 lbs. It's finished in white Axalta two-stage paint over a black frame.
Engine & Drivetrain
It's powered by a Cummins X15 Production Series engine rated at 500 HP at 1,900 RPM and 1,850 lb-ft at 950 RPM, governed at 2,000 RPM. The engine is a 2026 model year with 2024 emissions and is CARB and EPA idling compliant. It has a Jacobs compression brake with controls on the right-hand steering column, engine protection shutdown, and a 12-pin remote PTO/throttle provision in the engine bay, with PTO maximum engine speed set at 1,400 RPM. Maximum accelerator and cruise control speeds are set at 68 MPH, and typical operating speed is 65 MPH. The powertrain is optimized for performance in vocational and heavy-GCW applications.
The engine is backed by an Allison 4500 RDS-P Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series automatic in a 6-speed configuration. It has a TC-541 torque converter, a dash-mounted push-button shifter, neutral at stop, and primary shift schedule 2. Power goes through an SPL170 HD-XL driveline with two midship bearings and an SPL170 XL interaxle driveline, both service-free. The rear axle ratio is 4.30.
Supporting equipment includes a PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, a PACCAR 12V starter, and three PACCAR Premium 12V dual-purpose batteries totaling 2,190 CCA. The electrical system also has a Kissling 300A cab power disconnect switch, low-voltage disconnect, battery jumper terminal and a 110–120V immersion block heater. Other engine equipment includes an 18.7 CFM air compressor and a 2-speed fan clutch for frequent start/stop work. The cooling system is high-efficiency, and the air cleaner is firewall-mounted. The PACCAR fuel/water separator has an extended service interval and 12V fuel filter heat. Exhaust is a single right-hand side-of-cab system with the DPF/SCR in a single module under the right side of the cab, finished with a 24" tall, 5" diameter chrome curved-tip standpipe with clear coat.
Chassis & Axles
Wheelbase is 279", with 90.10" from front axle to back of cab, 188.90" cab-to-axle and 263.90" cab-to-end-of-frame. The frame uses 10-3/4" steel rails at 3/8" thickness with a full steel inner liner. The rails are zinc-coated and anti-corrosion treated, with aluminum crossmembers, heavy-duty iron front spring brackets front and rear, and a square end of frame with a steel crossmember.
The front axle is a PACCAR FX-20 wide-track steer axle rated at 20,000 lbs with a 4" drop. It has TRW THP60 dual-gear power steering with a frame-mounted reservoir and cooler, PHP10 iron Preset+ hubs, and Meritor EX+L optimized air disc brakes. The disc brakes use severe-service rotors for refuse applications and pad dust shields.
The rear axle is a Dana Spicer D46-172 tandem rated at 46,000 lbs, with heavy-wall drive axles, a tandem differential lock with speed interlock, and synthetic lubricant in all axles. A Hendrickson EXS20 self-steering pusher rated at 20,000 lbs sits 52" from the centerline of the forward drive axle. It has its own air tank, PHP10 iron Preset+ hubs with cast drums, and a regulator and gauge with the switch at the left of the driver's seat and a gauge in the dash. The lifted axle stows higher for maximum ground clearance. GAWR is 20,000 lbs front, 20,000 lbs first intermediate, 23,000 lbs second intermediate and 23,000 lbs rear. The chassis is rated for a maximum grade of 6%.
The rear drum brakes are Meritor Q+ cam, 16.5" x 8.625". The steer and drive axles have refuse service brakes, and the rear has reinforced brake camshafts, gusseted cam brackets and upsized parking brakes. The system also has an SBM valve, pneumatic park brake, Bendix Smart ATC traction control, a 6S6M anti-lock braking system and tire pressure monitoring. Air equipment includes a Bendix AD-HF EP air dryer with heater, coalescing filter and extended purge, plus steel painted air tanks with pull cords and nylon chassis hose.
Suspension
Up front are taper leaf springs rated at 20,000 lbs with Tenneco shocks, greasable spring pins and 80 mm spacer blocks. The rear uses Peterbilt Air Trac suspension rated at 46,000 lbs with a 52" axle spacing, air springs with internal bumpers, and a single leveling valve at the forward drive axle. A dash-mounted dump switch has an indicator light. The cab has its own air suspension.
Cab & Interior
The 121" BBC aluminum day cab has a Metton hood, stainless steel crown and grille with tilt assist, and a thermal insulation package. The driver's seat is a Peterbilt LX premium-level air-ride high-back in black fabric/vinyl. The passenger seat is a Peterbilt ST high-back in vinyl, with a toolbox and tow hook holders underneath. Both sides have armrests. The Prestige interior is Sterling Gray. The premium leather-wrapped steering wheel has audio and cruise controls and sits on a tilt/telescoping column.
The main instrument panel is a 15" digital cluster. It shows engine oil temperature, transmission oil temperature, air filter restriction, brake application pressure, engine hours, engine PTO hours, turbo boost and engine percent torque. There are also 52 mm backlit gauges for air suspension pressure, general air pressure, fuel filter restriction, tractor brake application, manifold pressure and pusher axle pressure, all with bright bezels. The dash has one additional switch with wiring behind it.
Other features include a ConcertClass AM/FM/WB radio with 3.5 aux, two speakers, Bluetooth phone and audio, a USB port and radio mute in reverse. The cab is pre-wired for CB with a mounting bracket and a low-mount antenna on the left cowl, and it has global telematics hardware. Climate control is a combo fresh-air heater/air conditioner. The cab has power door locks and windows, a one-piece curved windshield, a fixed 3-piece glass rear window and dark window tint. Outside, it has a stainless steel sunvisor and motorized, heated aero mirrors with integrated convex lenses in body-color housings, plus a look-down mirror over the passenger door. Rounding it out are an air horn under the cab, a textured NFPA-compliant exterior grab handle, a floor-mounted cup holder, a rear wall record/map pocket, a removable bugscreen behind the grille and intermittent electric wipers. Safety equipment includes a fire extinguisher, a triangle reflector kit, a 107 dB backup alarm and auto-reset circuit protection.

The cab and hood are painted white in Axalta two-stage paint, including the fenders, hood top and cab roof, over a black frame. The front bumper is a chromed, deep-tapered steel unit with two tow points.
Body & Equipment
The Galfab hoist comes with its standard equipment and installed 3-stage cylinders. It's driven by a hot shift PTO with a direct-mount hydraulic pump, run from 2-spool in-cab controls and a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-hydraulic PTO control. A Sarg Pioneer tarp system covers the load. The body package also includes tri-axle steel contour fenders and a 48" old-style Galbreath toolbox, plus installation, black finish and federal certification. The chassis has 4.5" rubber fender lips, and the rear mudflaps and hangers are omitted.
Fuel is carried in a 26" polished aluminum 110-gallon tank under the left side of the cab, with a polished non-slip step. The 24-gallon DEF tank is mounted on the left side behind the cab, with a polished stainless steel cover, and the fuel and hydraulic tank straps are also polished.
