The Cummins X15 is what stands out on this Palfinger HT500L: 450 hp and 1,650 lb-ft of torque at just 950 rpm, paired with an Allison 4500 RDS-P and an engine brake, which is a lot of low-rpm pulling power for getting a full container moving. The Peterbilt 567 6x4 puts that engine on a 20,000 lb front axle and a 46,000 lb Hendrickson HMX EX 460 tandem rear with a driver-controlled locking differential, for a 66,000 lb GVWR. Air brakes, an air dryer, an engine block heater, and a 90 gal fuel tank round out the drivetrain. On the hooklift side, the HT500L lifts up to 50,000 lbs, handles containers from 16' to 22', and tips to a 48° dump angle. A manually adjustable dual-point jib sets at 54" or 61 3/4" to match container height. The hoist is A514 (T-1) steel with a direct-mount piston pump at 4,495 psi and dual lift cylinders, backed by a 3 year structural and 1 year hydraulic warranty. Mechanical slide-through hold downs, poly fenders, and a Pioneer SARG 4500 tarp secure and cover loads, and PAD joystick controls run the hoist and tarper off a hot shift PTO.
