This new 2027 Peterbilt 567 quad-axle is built for construction dump work on and off highway. It runs a Cummins X15 rated at 525 HP and 1,850 lb-ft, paired with an Allison 4500 RDS-P 6-speed automatic. Behind the tandem drive axles, rated at 46,000 lbs, sit two Watson-Chalin self-steering pusher axles, for an 85,000 lb GVWR. Overview. This new 2027 Peterbilt 567 conventional day cab is a quad-axle construction dump truck, built to haul construction materials on and off highway. It is spec'd for a typical operating speed of 65 MPH and a maximum grade of 6 percent. The powertrain is tuned for balance in service with frequent start and stop cycles. GVWR is 85,000 lbs and GCW is 98,000 lbs.
Engine & Drivetrain. The engine is a Cummins X15 Production Series (2024 emissions, model year 2026 engine), rated 525 HP at 1900 RPM and 1,850 lb-ft at 1000 RPM, governed at 2000 RPM. The transmission is an Allison 4500 RDS-P Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series automatic in a 6-speed configuration, with a TC-561 torque converter, a dash-mounted push-button shifter, Neutral at Stop and Primary Shift Schedule 2. The rear axle ratio is 4.10. Drivelines are an SPL250 Lite HT main driveline with two midship bearings and an SPL170 XL interaxle driveline. Engine equipment includes a Jacobs compression brake with controls on the right-hand column, a 37.4 CFM air compressor, a PACCAR premium starter and a 160-amp brushed PACCAR alternator. Cooling is a high-efficiency system with a 2-speed fan clutch for frequent start/stops. Fuel and air handling include a Davco 382 fuel/water separator with 12V fuel filter heat, a fuel cooler, dual self-cleaning under-hood pre-cleaners and a firewall-mounted air cleaner. Electrical extras are a 110–120V immersion block heater, three PACCAR AGM 12V batteries (2,775 CCA), a low-voltage disconnect, a Kissling 300A cab power disconnect switch and an under-hood battery jumper terminal. The truck has a 12-pin remote PTO/throttle provision in the engine bay, a dash-mounted electric-over-hydraulic PTO control and engine protection shutdown. The exhaust is dual SOC with a left-hand stack and a right-hand under-cab DPF/SCR single module. It finishes in 36" chrome 7" standpipes with 45-degree cut curved tips.
Chassis & Axles. The frame is 10-3/4" steel rails, 3/8" thick, with a full steel inner liner, zinc-coated anti-corrosion treatment, aluminum crossmembers and HD iron front spring brackets. Wheelbase is 289", with 90.1" from front axle to back of cab and 198.9" cab-to-axle. Up front is a PACCAR FX-20 wide-track steer axle rated 20,000 lbs with a 4" drop and a Sheppard HD94 dual-gear power steering system. The rear is a Dana Spicer D46-172 tandem rated 46,000 lbs, with heavy-wall drive axles and a tandem differential lock with speed interlock. Two Watson-Chalin SL13 self-steering pusher axles (13,500 lbs each) sit 49" and 98" from the forward drive axle. Lifted axles stow higher for ground clearance, and the lift-axle regulators have dash switches and gauges. GAWRs are 18,740 lbs front, 11,020 lbs first intermediate, 23,000 lbs second intermediate and 23,000 lbs rear. Bendix ADB22X air disc brakes are fitted front and rear on PHP10 PreSet Plus hubs. The truck also has Bendix ESP electronic stability with ATC, 6S6M ABS, a pneumatic park brake, tire pressure monitoring and synthetic axle lube on all axles. It has dual Bendix AD-IS air dryers with an EverFlow module, polished aluminum air tanks and a dash-mounted self-returning brake hand valve. The fuel system is a polished 26" aluminum 110-gallon tank on the left side with a 14-gallon DEF tank behind a polished stainless cover. A heavy-duty external tow eye and a polished deep-tapered aluminum bumper are fitted.
Suspension. At the rear is a Hendrickson HMX EX 460 HaulMaax rated 46,000 lbs, with a 54" spread, a 70K creep rating and shock absorbers. Up front are 20,000 lb taper leaf springs with Tenneco shocks, greasable spring pins and 80 mm spacer blocks. The cab also rides on air suspension.
Cab & Interior. The cab is a 121" BBC aluminum day cab with a Metton hood and a stainless crown and grille with tilt assist. Paint is Axalta two-stage Pearl White on the cab, hood and fenders, with a black frame. Inside is a Prestige interior in Sterling Gray. The driver seat is a Peterbilt LX premium, air ride, high back, in black Mordura with dual armrests. The passenger seat is a Peterbilt ST high back with a toolbox underneath. Driver conveniences include a multi-function steering wheel with audio and cruise controls on a tilt/telescoping column, a 15" digital cluster and power windows and locks. Audio and communications are a ConcertClass AM/FM/WB radio with Bluetooth, USB and four speakers, plus a Uniden Bearcat 880 CB with weatherband and global telematics hardware. Gauges include drive axle oil temperature, fuel filter restriction, manifold pressure and pusher axle pressures, plus PTO and engine hourmeters on the cluster. Outside are motorized, heated aero mirrors with integrated convex lenses, a look-down mirror, a stainless outside sunvisor and dark window tint. Dual 23" roof-mounted air horns, LED projector headlights and LED load lights round out the exterior. Safety items are a thermal insulation package, a 107 dB backup alarm, a fire extinguisher and a triangle reflector kit.
Body & Equipment. The body is a Heritage Steel Smooth Side, 99" wide, with 54" sides of 5/32" AR-450 and a formed 5/32" AR-450 top rail. The floor and longsills are 3/16" AR-450, and 2" x 8" black sideboards are fitted. A 5/32" AR-450 bulkhead carries a 12" full-width 10-gauge cab shield with a tarp deflector. The tailgate is 60", 3/16" AR-450, with two horizontally braced panels. It swings overslung and side-swing on air controls, with ground controls for the side-swing function and salt locks on each side. Hydraulics are a pin-to-pin telescopic hoist driven by a Hotshift PTO for the Allison and a direct-mount pump with a feathering air valve. Hydraulic oil sits in a 35-gallon aluminum upright tank behind the cab, on a 3-line system with dash PTO-engaged and body-up lights. The tarp is an Aero electric arm-flip system with an asphalt tarp. Lighting is a full LED package with front and rear strobes. Other equipment includes a pull-out ladder, a shovel holder, an 8" bolt-on apron, a diamond-plate deckplate and Heritage mud flaps. For towing, the truck has a 45-ton pintle hitch (28" height) with D-rings, a 7-prong plug and glad hands.
Tires & Wheels. The steer axle runs 385/65R22.5 Bridgestone M864 18-ply tires on Accuride 22.5x12.25 aluminum wheels. The drives run eight 11R22.5 Bridgestone M760 Ecopia 14-ply tires on Accuride 22.5x8.25 aluminum wheels. The pushers run four 255/70R22.5 Bridgestone R250ED 16-ply tires on Accuride 22.5x8.25 aluminum wheels. All wheels are extra-polished, with wheel guards on every axle.
Warranty & Protection. The truck includes Peterbilt Class 8 standard coverage for 1 year/100,000 miles (160,000 km) and a base emissions warranty for 5 years/100,000 miles. A 5-year SmartLinq RD subscription for the Cummins engine is also included.Specifications
