Engine & Drivetrain
PACCAR PX-9 rated at 330 HP @ 2,000 RPM (governed at 2,200 RPM) with 1,000 lb-ft of torque @ 1,200 RPM, Productivity spec, 2024-emissions compliant (2025 model year engine). EMUX electronics architecture, typical operating speed of 62 MPH, and powertrain optimized for performance in vocational applications or heavy GCWR. Paired with an Allison 3000 RDS-P Rugged Duty Series automatic transmission (Gen 6) in a 6-speed close-ratio configuration, dash-mounted push-button shifter, auto-neutral at stop and when the parking brake is set, 1710 HD driveline with a midship bearing, and LH-mounted trans PTO provisions with a Chelsea PTO opening. Remote PTO/throttle provision (12-pin, 250K, J1939). VGT exhaust brake, Horton on/off fan clutch, high-efficiency cooling system, and an 18.7 CFM air compressor. Single RH SOC exhaust with DPF/SCR under cab (single module) and chrome standpipes. Chassis & Axles
10-5/8" steel frame rails (286"-325" range), 5/16" thickness, zinc-coated anti-corrosion treatment, with a heavy-duty 5-piece crossmember. Wheelbase measures 188", with FAX/BOC at 67.5", cab/axle at 120.5", and cab/EOF at 220.5". Front axle is a Dana Spicer E1002IL rated 10,000 lbs with a 3.5" drop; rear axle is a Dana Spicer S23-190 rated 23,000 lbs on a 5.57 ratio, with a driver-controlled differential lock (speed-interlocked) and Bendix Smart ATC traction control. GAWR is 10,000 lbs front / 23,000 lbs rear, GVWR and GCW are both 33,000 lbs, and maximum grade rating is 6%. Bendix air cam drum brakes are fitted front (16.5" x 5") and rear (16.5" x 7") with a 4S4M ABS system, upsized parking brakes, gusseted cam brackets front and rear, heavy-duty cam bushings, and synthetic axle lubricant throughout. Fuel is carried in a D-shaped 60-gallon aluminum tank mounted LH behind the cab, with a small HD DEF tank (14-gallon HD / 5.5-gallon MD sizing per DEF-to-fuel ratio of 1:1–2:1) also mounted LH BOC under a polished stainless-steel cover.
