    About Ford

Ford Motor Company was founded in 1903, and although the manufacturer produced several vehicles before it, the Model T was its main claim to fame in 1908 and the years that followed. The company built on that foundation and continues to produce vehicles under its own banner as well as via its Lincoln and Troller brands. Throughout its history, Ford has also acquired or been closely associated with several other popular brands, including Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercury, Mazda, and Volvo, to name a few.

    Ford Super Duty F-450 Limited

Ford is most widely known for its cars, trucks, and vans, including everything from Mustangs and F-series trucks to stock cars used in NASCAR races and other events, but the company has a long history of dipping its toes into other areas. For example, Ford manufactured buses in North America for a time, and still does in Europe. It also produced a line of riding lawnmowers for a few decades, a handful of which are up for sale on Tree Trader.

But its longest-running non-automotive endeavor was tractors, beginning with Fordson tractors in the early 1900s followed by the N-series in the 1930s and 1940s and many other models. That tractor DNA is still alive with New Holland, a CNH Global brand. Ford acquired Sperry-New Holland in 1986 and renamed it Ford-New Holland. Then, in 1993, Ford sold that company to Fiat, which simply chopped “Ford” off of the name.

    Ford Trucks & Tractors

On TreeTrader.com, the most common Ford vehicles are light-, medium-, or heavy-duty cab and chassis trucks that are ready to support a wide range of configurations, including service trucks or flatbeds. A number of pre-configured chipper trucks, dump trucks, and hooklift trucks are often available. Popular models include the F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-650, and F-750.

One example is the F-450 XL SD (Super Duty). It’s available with a 6.7-liter V8 turbo diesel engine that produces 475 horsepower (354 kilowatts) and up to 1,050 pounds-foot (1,424 newton-meters) of torque, or with a 6.2-L or 7.3-L gas engine. Available transmissions include TorqShift six-speed and 10-speed SelectShift options. Ford also offers a regular, super, or crew cab with the truck, making it a versatile option for individual contractors and team-based landscaping operations alike.

The vast majority of Ford products for sale on Tree Trader are trucks, but buyers interested in owning a piece of Ford history will find hundreds of used tractors for sale as well, all of which are rated at below 40 HP (30 kW). One popular model is the 8N, which was produced in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Some of tractors listed on the site are all-original, while others have been refreshed, rebuilt, or repainted. Many remain in good working condition and some even come with attachments.
