Rayco is an affiliate brand of Morbark (along with Boxer and DENIS CIMAF) that makes heavy-duty environmental equipment used in the tree care, landscaping, construction, and other industries. Rayco is known for its mulchers and stump cutters, but also sells aerial trimmers, articulated wheel loaders, and crawler trucks, plus trailers designed for towing its stump cutters. Rayco Then & Now

John Bowling founded Rayco in 1978 in Wooster, Ohio. As the owner of a tree care service company, he recognized that the tree and landscape industries had unique equipment requirements, and set out to fill them. In November 2017, Rayco became an affiliate brand of Morbark following an acquisition that would bolstered Morbark’s equipment stable and the availability of the company’s aftermarket parts and service. In 2016, Stellex Capital Management acquired Morbark. Under its leadership, Morbark acquired DENIS CIMAF in 2018, bringing its industrial brush cutters and mulcher heads onboard. In October 2019, Stellex Capital Management sold Morbark to Alamo Group.

    Rayco Equipment

The company’s C100-series forestry mulchers , like the 120-horsepower (149-kilowatt) C120R, are particularly popular on TreeTrader.com. Along with rubber tracks, the C120R features Rayco’s exclusive elevated cooling design and its exclusive Super Flow closed-loop hydrostatic system that the manufacturer says provides uncommon mulching power for a compact machine. Also popular are RG37 series wheel stump grinders like the self-propelled RG37T Trac Jr. It includes counter-rotating tracks that help it turn in place to more easily take up position next to large stumps. The RG37T and other Rayco stump grinders also include a swing-out control station designed to enhance visibility and operator safety. Rayco’s TR100L trailer, meanwhile, is specifically designed to haul the RG165T-R stump cutter, while the TRG trailer is designed to transport self-propelled Super Jr, Trac Jr, RG55 , and RG80 stump cutters.
