    About Bobcat

Founded in Gwinner, North Dakota, in 1947 by Edward Gideon "E.G." Melroe as the Melroe Manufacturing Company, Bobcat introduced the first compact loader, the M60, in 1958. The self-propelled loader has been credited with kick-starting the compact equipment industry. In 2014, Bobcat produced its 1 millionth Bobcat loader. Today, Bobcat boasts the world’s most extensive compact equipment distribution network with roughly 1,000 Bobcat dealers.

    Getting Better All The Time

Bobcat’s skid-steer lineup includes a wide range of capacities, ranging from 700 to nearly 4,000 pounds 317 to 1,814 kilograms). Bobcat’s wide selection includes both wheel and track skid steers, which Bobcat refers to as “skid steers” and “compact track loaders,” respectively. The latest models include features like fuel-efficient engines, advanced cooling systems, and powerful hydraulics that increase the performance potential of the compact machines.

    Work In Tight Spaces

When landscaping, Bobcat’s skid-steer loaders and compact track loaders are effective at transporting dirt out of a backyard, loading the dirt into dump trucks, and backfilling after construction, among other tasks. Their compact design also means the loaders can fit into space-constrained jobsites where other skid steers or excavators might not fit.

    A Complete Lineup

Bobcat’s line of construction equipment includes skid steer, compact track, and mini track loaders; compact excavators; utility vehicles; Toolcat work machines; telehandlers; and additional compact hydraulic equipment and attachments. In 2019, Bobcat introduced a new lineup of compact tractors that support existing Bobcat attachments and implements. And in 2020, Bobcat expanded to zero-turn mowers with both sit-on and stand-on models built to tackle challenging turf conditions.
