    About JLG

JLG, a leading international designer and manufacturer of lift and access equipment, was founded in 1969 by John L. Grove in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, and sold its first aerial work platform in 1970. JLG released its first scissor lift in 1976 and expanded to the UK a year later. Innovations continued with the first 150-foot boom lift (the 150HAX) in 1991, its first mobile vertical lift in 1996, and the first 60-foot electric boom lift in 2000. JLG produced its 100,000th scissor lift in 2001, just three years after it hit it 50,000th milestone. The company reached another milestone—100,000 telehandlers—in 2015. JLG manufactured its 100,000th North American-made self-propelled boom lift in 2007, introduced its ClearSky fleet management and telematic system in 2009, and introduced the world’s largest self-propelled boom lift, the 185OSJ, in 2014. In 2018, the company produced its 250,000th North American-manufactured self-propelled boom lift.

Throughout that time the company continued to expand and acquire other brands, including Gradall and Manlift. The company also added international locations in Australia, Amsterdam, Belgium, France, and, its most recent expansion abroad, China, in 2008. JLG was acquired by Oshkosh Truck Corporation in 2006.

    Types Of JLG Lift Equipment

In addition to JLG- and SkyTrak-branded telehandlers (or telescopic forklifts), JLG also produces engine-powered articulating and telescopic boom lifts and articulating, compact crawler, telescopic, and Toucan-branded mast electric and hybrid boom lifts. Other JLG products include low-level personnel lifts, drop-deck trailers, the RS carrier, push-around and drivable vertical lifts and order pickers, electric and engine-powered scissor lifts, towable boom lifts, and utility vehicles. As mentioned earlier, the company offers ClearSky telematics for machine management, as well as the safety-minded ClearSky Access Control system.
