    Morbark Through The Years

Norval Morey started Morbark in the late the 1950s as The Morbark Debarker Company on the strength of a patent he held for a portable pulp wood debarker. In 2012, the company acquired Boxer, adding a line of skid steers to its offerings and helping open its business to customers in new markets. In 2016, Stellex Capital Management acquired Morbark; the acquisitions of Rayco and DENIS CIMAF soon followed. Those additions brought brush cutter and mulcher attachments for numerous equipment types under the Morbark umbrella, as well as stump cutter, aerial trimmer, forestry mulcher, and crawler truck models. In October 2019, Alamo Group acquired Morbark from Stellex Capital Management, making it a subsidiary.

    Morbark Equipment

Morbark introduced its first Eeger Beever brush chipper models in 1979, and now offers models in various towable configurations with drum or disc, electric or diesel engine, and track or tire options. Designed for processing wood waste, land clearing, entry-level biomass production, and other materials, the chippers are used by golf courses, orchards, residential and highway clean-up crews, utility line clearing crews, and others. Wood Hog horizontal grinders help process brush, yard waste, storm debris, asphalt shingles, and other materials. The lineup includes compact X series models aimed at niche recycling markets. Morbark tub grinders, such as 1300-series models popular on TreeTrader.com, include Morbark’s MICS (Morbark Integrated Control Systems) diagnostic system that automatically adjusts feed rates and monitors pressures and feed wheel position.
